Sunderland are back from their pre-season camp in Portugal, and are gearing up for tomorrow’s friendly against Darlington. However, transfer talk still dominates the agenda at the Stadium of Light, with the need for a striker still evident, while the club hopes to offload some unwanted players.
Jack Ross has been talking about Duncan Wamore (see link below) and when Sunderland fans could expect to see him back in action.
The forward is making good progress from his cruciate knee ligament injury but it will be a while before he is fit enough to play in games.
Watmore will be expected to make a huge impact on League One, but until he is fit it leaves Sunderland very short on attacking options and the need to bring in at least two strikers is urgent.
