Sunderland manager Jack Ross confirmed on Saturday that the Black Cats are interested in a summer move for Bradford forward Charlie Wyke (25).
Wyke has been one of League One’s top marksmen over the last two seasons and has been identified as a solution to Sunderland’s desperate need for a new forward.
But should they sign Wyke it would give everybody at the club a welcome lift. But just who is Charlie Wyke?
Wyke started out at Middlesbrough as a youth and had loans spells with Kettering, AFC Wimbledon and Hartlepool before earning an 18-month deal with the Cumbrians. After scoring 39 times in 89 outings, Bradford moved to add him to their ranks.
Wyke has only been at Valley Parade for eighteen months, initially joining on deadline day in January 2017. He scored seven in 19 appearances at the end of his first season, bringing his Bantams total to 23.
